“Why are you depressed?” well meaning people ask. How do I answer that question? “Why is the moon full? Why are the leaves changing color and falling off the trees? It’s just the season.” Maybe I should give them the medical reason. “It’s an imbalance of chemicals in my body.” But I can imagine the look and the questions that would follow.
